Online Training: Installer/Technician Class Categories
KTI for the Installer/Technician is a set of online classes that instructs Installers and Technicians on how to install, program, and maintain Keri access control equipment and software.
All classes are free for qualified Dealers, Distributors, and Installers of Keri equipment.
The program is broken into two categories: core and advanced. You need only take the classes that apply to what you do. As you complete a class, you will receive a certificate of completion. However, if you meet all the requirements of a category you will receive an additional certification: a "Keri Certified Installer" certificate for meeting the core technical requirements and a "Keri Elite Certified Installer" certificate for meeting the advanced technical requirements. Class lengths are either one hour (session A) or two hours (session B) long.
PXL Hardware Basic:
PXL-500 Installation and Operation
Duration: 2 hours
Course Description: This class provides an overview for the basic installation and operation of the Keri PXL-500 controllers, satellite boards, readers, PXL hardware Specifications, requirements and limitations. Some installation tips and cautions to help ensure a safe, cost-effective installation will be considered.
Doors Software Basic:
Doors Installation, Configuration, and Operation
Duration: 2 hours
Course Description: This class covers a standard (basic) Doors software installation process. It reviews program installation, configuration, and operation of Keri’s Doors software program, navigation and the location of all standard features. You will go over the various menu items and functions related to a standard installation process. Hardware programming, Card/credential enrollment, basic maintenance, creation of Time Zones, Access Groups and how they relate to obtaining an Access Granted. Monitoring and Basic reporting will also be covered.
Doors Software Advanced:
Advanced Doors Installation and Operation
Pre-requisite: Completion of the Doors Software Basic course is required or previous experience and familiarity of the Doors software required.
Duration: 2 hours
Course Description: This class covers advanced programming and operating features available in the Doors software program. Discussion of Sites mode, Programming I/O with use of the SB593 satellite board (designed for the PXL500 controllers), Other features coved are Anti-passback, Rollcall/Track (Muster), Dual Verification, and Temporary Cards.
LAN Operations Basic:
LAN Operation and Networked Doors
Attendees MUST have technical knowledge of general networking in a PC environment.
Duration: 2 hour
Course Description: This class covers Instructions for installing and configuring the LAN-520/50 device server to obtain TCP/IP communication to the PXL500 controllers and provide flexibility in controller networking eliminating the need of RS232 or Modem communication. Also discussed is the installation, configuration, and use the LAN-520/50 with the NC-485 Network Converter to provide LAN/WAN Ethernet connectivity between two or more PXL RS-485 network segments to span long distances while maintaining the RS-485 network.
EntraGuard Basic:
Telephone Entry Using EntraGuard
Pre-requisite: Completion of the Doors Basic course required or previous experience and familiarity of the Doors software required.
Duration: 1 hour
Course Description: Installation, configuration and operation of the Keri EntraGuard telephone entry system. It also covers the programming of tenant information through the Doors software and networking with other Entraguard units, No Phone line (NPL) and/or PXL500 controllers.
Doors Badging Basic:
Keri Photo Badging
Pre-requisite: Completion of the Doors Basic course required or previous experience and familiarity of the Doors software required.
Duration: 1 hour
Course Description: This class covers Installation and configuration of the badge-printing feature of Doors. Also covered in the class is printer hardware, designing card templates using the GuardDraw software included with the Doors installation CD and features unlocked in Doors once badging has been installed and configured.
NXT Hardware Basic:
Duration: 1 hour
Course Description: The newest line of NXT controllers and NXT options. The specifications, requirements, features, and limitations will be discussed as well as some basic layouts and troubleshooting techniques.
NXT Software Basic:
Pre-requisite: Completion of the NXT Hardware course required and technical knowledge of general networking in a PC environment required.
Duration: 2 hours
Course Description: The Basics of Doors NXT Installation, software layout, configuration, and connectivity settings. This course will help you become familiar with the software, its capabilities and what is required to installation. This course will help you take ownership of a new controller, assign an IP and configure it to an access granted.
End User Software:
A FEE applies to this class. This class is reserved for End UsersEnd-User Training
Duration: 2 hoursCourse Description: Instruction on the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a Doors access control system.
Note: This is a software only course. Will not cover software installation or software/hardware configuration.
