Borealis – May 2026 Release Highlights

May 8th, 2026

The latest Borealis update introduces several new features focused on system management, usability, and subscription flexibility — along with a number of fixes and interface improvements across the platform.

Organization Credit Cards

Organization Owners can now add and manage organization-level credit cards for subscription payments.

This makes it easier to manage multiple systems under one organization, with:

  • Shared payment management across systems
  • Support for both Organization and System-level cards
  • System cards still take priority if auto-renewal is enabled on both

Anti-Passback (APB) Support Added

Local Anti-Passback (APB) is now supported on:

  • NXT-MSC controllers
  • Mercury EP, LP, and MP controllers

This helps prevent credential sharing by requiring users to badge in and out correctly before re-entry is granted.

Customizable Home Screen

Operators can now customize the Borealis home screen by:

  • Choosing which modules appear
  • Displaying only selected readers
  • Enabling or disabling widgets such as:
    • Live Events
    • Cardholders
    • Credentials
    • Hardware Status

This allows each operator to tailor the dashboard to the information most important to them.

Improved Hub Status Reporting

Several improvements have been made to Borealis Hub communication monitoring:

  • Reduced false “online” status reporting
  • Added a new Hub Status feature in the Actions menu
  • Easier visibility into true hub communication status

Real-Time Reader Status Improvements

Resolved issues where:

  • Reader status updates were delayed
  • Reader mode information was not refreshing correctly on the home screen

PXL & Entraguard Improvements

A number of fixes were included for PXL and Entraguard systems, including:

  • Corrected reader status reporting
  • Improved controller online/offline status consistency
  • Fixed reader count calculations within subscriptions and shopping cart displays

Operator Security Improvements

To improve security:

  • Operator lockout now activates after 5 unsuccessful login attempts

Subscription & Billing Improvements

Several subscription management enhancements have been added:

  • Credits can now be issued for unused reader slots
  • Updated reactivation fee structure:
    • Now charged per billable reader
    • Applies 30 days after subscription renewal expiry

Additional Improvements

Other fixes and improvements in this release include:

  • Added “Manage Systems” option to the main menu
  • Resolved an issue preventing Mercury EP1501 controllers from being deleted
  • Corrected operator role level selection issues
